‘American Horror Story’: Adam Levine confirms role in series

Adam is joining the cast

When rumors started to surface online that ‘The Voice’ mentor Adam Levine was going to hang up his microphone and bust out his acting chops we were skeptical at first since Levine has never been an actor before.

As it turns out, the rumors that the ‘Maroon 5’ singer has landed a role in the hit FX series ‘American Horror Story’ are true as Levine confirmed the news to Ryan Seacrest on his morning show.  Although ‘American Horror Story’ co-creator Ryan Murphy has the second season under lock and key, Adam felt that he could let a little information about his involvement slip.  He said;

“It is the truth.  I mean, it’s pretty much happening. I think it’s happening. I don’t know how much I can divulge, because Ryan [Murphy] is very under wraps. It’s going to be fun. And I told [Ryan] I really didn’t know what I was doing but he didn’t seem to really care. So I’m just going to go and try to [do] acting. I think I’m going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy. He’s really great, and I love the fact that he believes in me to throw me out there.”

The second season of ‘American Horror Story’ will be set in an institution on the east coast and while season one cast members, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Zachary Quinto, will be returning, they will not be playing the same characters they did in season one.

Levine is slated to play one half of the characters called ‘The Lovers’ and at this time it has not been revealed who the other ‘lover’ will be, but it will be interesting to see how a singer with no previous acting experience will fair with acting legends like Jessica Lange in the mix.  It could be really great or it could be a big fat disaster – guess we’ll have to wait and see where the chips fall.
