Over all I preferred last week's episode, primarily because I love old style competent Tony and I don't like the way Gina Lucita Monreal writes him.

Whilst the whole cat thing was sweet - and don't get me wrong I love cats, I've had one of my own since I was a child - it just felt like yet again everyone else is in the real world dealing with serious issues and Tony's in a different show all of his own, certainly not an adult crime drama. You think you're about to get a nice bonding scene between McGee and Tony and nope he's talking about a cat and as for asking the guy they were interviewing if he'd travelled with a cat....please!!!! If that was Abby - maybe, but not Tony! Took me right back to last season's "Double Back" when McGee was dealing with Delilah's injuries and Tony's babbling on about chops and casseroles - coincidentally I note written by the same writer.

David McCallum was lovely - as always - he could read the phone book and be amazing and the Hawk/Kent story line was undoubtedly a lovely tribute.

And I was delighted to finally see the return of Palmer - can't get enough Palmer and at last a reference to Breena's pregnancy! Has Palmer qualified as a Doctor yet?!

Enjoyed Bishop's confrontation with Gibbs - nice to see a bit of emotion for a change. Seems to me that the writers are attempting to make good some poor decisions made during season 11 with varying degrees of success. Last week they attempted to justify Ziva up and leaving by saying that Tony had done the same to Zoe. This week they explained Gibbs' odd behaviour towards Bishop. However I don't understand what Gibbs' teaching had to do with either Kate's death or indeed Ziva's departure. Now if Gibbs had said that he'd been going easy on Bishop because she made him think of his daughter, well to me that would have made a lot more sense.
