We’re going to be going across the pond for a pair of brief “X Factor” stories to kick off the week, and we begin with one that certainly has some enormous implications on the future of the show — Louis Walsh is indeed returning for another season!
Despite there being some speculation that Walsh was done with the franchise after nearly a decade on board the show, he told The Mirror that he is happy to be back on board yet again:
“I am so happy to have signed up for another year. It’s my ninth year, I’m the only person to be in it for nine years… I’m busy now from here until Christmas. I signed the deal yesterday – making it my ninth year on the show … I never wanted to be on TV, it was never in my plan. But now I’m on it, I love the show.”
While Louis confirmed that Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos will both be back for another season, he admitted to being uncertain on the fate of Kelly Rowland, whose return has been up in the air almost as soon as the moment Little Mix ended up winning this past season.
In other news, fans of “X Factor” megastars One Direction are likely going to be pleased to know that we are just days from the boy band making their scripted television debut in America courtesy of “iCarly” Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. While the video below does not necessarily show off the boys’ acting ability too much, it does at least prove that they have a great sense of humor about themselves — and we hope to see that carry over if they do actually end up getting a show of their own on the network.
One Direction is also fresh off an appearance at the Kids’ Choice Awards, where they performed their hit “What Makes You Beautiful.”
Do you think Louis is making the right move in returning?
