‘Game of Thrones’ season 2 premiere preview: A look at characters, locations

Are you ready?

For those of you who are more than excited for the premiere of “Game of Thrones” Sunday night, we have a pair of preview videos designed you that much more of an inside look at the people and places you are going to be seeing throughout season 2.

First, we have a video from HBO that introduces us to some of the new characters — from Stannis Baratheon and his quest to obtain the throne to Melisandre to Qhorin. These characters give you a richer sense of the worlds across Westeros, and they are all going to be playing a key role in the action throughout the next handful of episodes.

At the moment, we admit that we’re the most excited to see Stannis simply from the standpoint of hoping to see Joffrey taken down a few notches.

Meanwhile, our second video focuses on some new locations — including Craster’s Keep and Harrenhal, two of the cooler places that we have ever seen on a fantasy series.

What we need to especially note here is how producers for “Thrones” have managed to make all of these locations look vast, distinct, and incredible, and they are somehow finding a way to make all of these locations so breathtaking with just a fraction of the budget you would see for a fantasy film.

If this fails to make you any more excited for season 2 to begin, then we really don’t know what to tell you. Check back overnight, as we will have our full review posted for the season premiere.

How excited are you to return to Westeros?
