Kris Allen’s album title ‘Thank You Camellia’ — search for meaning begins

Here’s the cover.

Just as we have with some other major announcements, we have a special edition of “American Idol” notes this afternoon to focus solely on the cover to Kris Allen’s new album, which also now has a title — “Thank You Camellia.”

We’re still not quite sure what the title of this article means, but we’ll admit that we love just about everything featured here. We weren’t huge fans of the overall design of the first album, and we also don’t think that naming your album after yourself is also not the best way to generate publicity. Meanwhile, the aesthetic on this album is so vintage and intriguing, and then name is also interesting. Is Kris expressing his gratitude for a plant? The presence of the dog here could be silly, but we think it works in that it keeps the album from looking too sparse.

The disc is set to hit stores on May 22 … just in time for a live performance on “Idol”? We hope so. If you haven’t heard the lead single “The Vision of Love” yet, you can do so below.

What do you think about this cover, and do you think it does a far better job at creating conversation than his debut?
