While Nicki Minaj and Scotty McCreery are each set to perform on “American Idol” Thursday night, we do have some welcome news for you courtesy of who is going to be hitting up the famous stage after that.
First things first, Mjsbigblog is reporting that Kelly Clarkson taped a performance following the life show Wednesday, which would set her up to actually have it air next week. It’s possible that producers could be saving it for later — they did do this with Justin Bieber last year — but we don’t really see that happening. As for what Kelly’s singing, it’s safe to say that will either try to take on “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” or test out a new single.
Meanwhile, The Wanted posted a message on Twitter to say that they will be performing next week (likely their megahit “Glad You Came”) to go along with it:
“And now for our big news…we are excited to announce we will be performing on American Idol on 5th of April!! #TheWantedOnIdol”
As we’ve already performed, the April 12 results show is going to feature a performance by James Durbin; we know Adam Lambert is set to also come on at some point this season, but for now his specific appearance date is still a mystery — as is the identity of other “Idol” alum who could be hitting the stage.
Who do you want to see performing on the show?
