If you are a “Glee” fan, then there are two things you are probably going to appreciate knowing about on this fine Tuesday afternoon.
1. Whoopi Goldberg’s coming on board – Admittedly, we don’t get what some of the fans out there are upset about here. Yes, Ryan Murphy said that he wasn’t going to actively seek out big-name guest stars for this season; but when a big-name guest star is the best choice, you have to be happy about it … right?
TVLine is reporting that Whoopi Goldberg is going to be appearing on multiple episodes of the show in May as Carmen Tibideaux, a professor at the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts (NYADA) who could effective make or crush the dreams of Rachel and Kurt at any given moment. She will be in Lima to hear the auditions for both characters, and she will also be the one present to give her ultimate verdict.
The fact that Goldberg is coming out to Los Angeles despite her anxiety flying just goes to show you how much she values this role, and her past experience really makes her perfect for it. Considering that she is signed on for at least three appearances, don’t be surprised if she turns up during the season finale.
2. “The Glee Project” is (almost) here! – If you love “The Glee Project” (and it’s really hard not to), then you are likely going to smile at the season 2 promo for the Oxygen show below.
Unfortunately, there’s no official premiere date listed for the series, and there is also no real footage of this season’s contestants. The only thing the show really gives us here is footage of Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty celebrating, and considering that they each have roles on “Glee” now they have plenty to celebrate about.
Do you think Whoopi is the right choice, and that this really isn’t “stunt casting” at all since it fills an important role?
