Beyonce sends special message to Atlantis space shuttle (audio)

Before recently, Beyonce seemingly had fans all over the world — so no one ever thought about the idea that she could also pull in some supporters in outer space.

In what can be best described as a rather cool gesture to some astronauts currently on board the space shuttle Atlantis, the “Crazy in Love” singer sent up a brief message wishing all of them some great success in representing America and completing their mission.

“Good morning, Atlantis. This is Beyonce. Sandy, Chris, Doug and Rex, you inspire all of us to dare to live our dreams, to know that we’re strong enough and smart enough to achieve them.”

Considering that one of her recent singles is entitled “Girls (Run the World),” she also gave a special shout-out to female astronaut Sandy Magnus for being such an inspiration — and for hopefully inspiring other women to travel away from earth, as well.

Now here’s the real question — now that Beyonce has reached an audience in outer space via a recorded message, how long to do you think it’s going to be before she actually tries to perform there? (Hey, maybe she could find some extraterrestrial fans out there — though they may appreciate a certain song by Katy Perry a little bit more.)
