‘American Idol’ notes: James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, and Elise Testone

Durbin's on tour!

We’re starting out the “American Idol” notes today with the biggest alumni-related announcement of the past 24 hours: James Durbin is going on tour! Just like many of his fellow season 10 stars, James is going to be spending some time with an established act (in band Buckcherry, in his case) as he travels around the country with some original music.

The following dates are all part of his spring touring lineup. (The ones with an asterisk beside them are part of the Buckcherry tour.)

4/12 Los Angeles, CA – The Viper Room
4/17 Austin, TX – Stubbs with Evanescence

4/21 Lubbock, TX – Xfest Radio Show – Pavilion Stage at Lonestar Amy
4/24 Odessa, TX – Dos Amigos*
4/25 Houston, TX – Warehouse Live*
4/27 St. Louis, MO – Pops Nite Club*
4/28 Concho, OK – Lucky Star Casino*
5/11 Clear Lake, IA – Surf Ballroom*

5/23 Knoxville, TN – Valarium*
5/24 Biloxi, MS = Hard Rock Live*
5/27 Carlsbad, NM – Walter Gerels PAC*

For those curious, we also now know for sure that Thursday, April 12 is going to be the day that Durbin returns to “Idol” for his first-ever performance since leaving the show last year.

Lauren Alaina visits “Today” – While this may not necessarily be landmark news, Lauren Alaina fans have to be happy whenever the season 10 runner-up gets a chance to be 0n TV.

On Monday morning, Alaina paid a visit to “The Today Show” and performed her new single “Georgia Peaches” for 4th hour hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda. There was nothing that necessarily made this performance stand out, but we’re glad to see Interscope still promoting her every chance they can.

Goofy? Definitely.

Moving in – Phillip Phillips may have actually been singing “Movin’Out” last week about his future move into the “Idol” mansion. For those watching the current season closely, you will be pleased to know that the entire top 9 moved into the famous mansion Monday.

Elise Testone posted the picture to the left on Twitter to mark the occasion, ans we can’t figure out what’s funnier — Skylar Laine’s face or a camera trick making it look like Joshua Ledet is barfing over a railing.

As always, check back soon for more “Idol” news!
