‘One Direction’ performs in Dallas, hopes for Kardashian support

The love the USA

Since leaving the warm embrace of ‘X Factor UK’, One Direction has become a huge success overseas as they burn up the music charts and sell out stadiums everywhere, but many were skeptical about how the group would fair on US soil and thought they wouldn’t do well over here.

As it turns out ‘One Direction’ band members, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles were a massive hit in the US, with their album ‘Up All Night’ snagging the number one spot on the US Billboard charts.

Since reaching that top spot on the Billboard charts, the group hasn’t given a live performance, until this weekend that is.  ‘One Direction’ performed in Dallas on Saturday at the Dr Pepper Ballpark and was scheduled to only perform four of their hit songs.

Fans traveled from all over the US to see the boys perform as they sang to roughly 7,000 screaming fans. An insider told TMZ that a team made up of roughly 100 security guards was on hand to protect the boys during their Dallas performance.

Some of the members of ‘One Direction’ seem to be crazy about the Kardashian sisters and tried their best to get them to come to the event.  Niall Horan posted a message on his Twitter account to Khloe Kardashian to invite her to the show.  He wrote; “Hey khloe, we are coming to dallas next week for a fan event performing and stuff ! you and lemar should come along!”

Harry Styles also tried to get Kim Kardashian to show up at the performance.  He showed up to a radio interview with a giant cardboard cutout of Kim in a bikini with a post-it note attached to it that read: “call me… maybe?”. Styles has used this technique in the past with Caroline Flack, the host of ‘The Xtra Factor’ when he posed with a sign that read; “To Flackster! Never too old… Let’s make it happen!! Lots of love, Harry S.”  Harry and Caroline were said to have dated for a few months shortly after that.
