So why did Camille Grammer really make the decision to walk away from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after just two seasons? More than anything else, it seems to be an issue all about both timing and the producers not wanting her back badly enough.
Speaking out about her exit as a part of a new interview with E! News, Camille actually had quite a bit to say pertaining to why she decided to walk away (and frankly, if she really did decide to walk away):
“I was not fired … I didn’t want to expose my personal life so much anymore. I had done that and was over that. I care very much for my family and children and that show tends to take me away from them. I really want to focus on them right now.
“… I just chose to keep most things private in general. I’m in a good place and I’ve had such an interesting experience and such a learning experience being on this show. I’ve really enjoyed my time working with the girls and I will miss the camaraderie. I enjoyed the producers and Bravo. I’m upset about that part.”
Ultimately, Camille is saying through these comments something that is rather refreshing — that she would rather put more of the focus on her personal life than trying to participate in more staged drama for the sake of ratings. In many ways the decision contradicts Kelsey’s own past comments about her being constantly hungry for fame, and it also certainly shows that she has plenty of other opportunities lined up so that she doesn’t have to worry about the financial benefits of being a “Housewives” star (and all of the publicity that comes as a result).
Camille has a new boyfriend in the impossible-to-pronounce Dimitri Charalambopolous, and she is opting to also preserve that since it has yet to be seen on camera in any sort of direct way. She she claims that the relationship alone is not the reason that she is stepping away from the show, it obviously is playing a key role after watching her life with Kelsey crumble before America’s eyes.
From a human standpoint, do you wish that more reality stars would make this decision to get away from the spotlight once they’ve had enough, rather than just trying to milk every last second of it?
