Today, our “American Idol” notes have a distinct country flair — though we are throwing some Haley Reinhart into the mix, at first.
A scary moment for Haley – Whenever a contestant is eliminated on an “Idol” results show, they board a flight to New York City over the weekend in order to do some press there (including such shows as “Live! with Kelly” and “The Today Show”). With this in mind, Erika Van Pelt ended up boarding a flight … and on this occasion, she was joined by another “Idol” performer in Haley Reinhart, who was making her return to the show to perform “Free.”
Unfortunately, the two hit some major snags in the air in route to the Big Apple, and as Erika said on her Twitter account, it created quite a strange situation:
“Wow scary experience on the plane! Couldn’t pressurize the cabin so now I’m back in LA til further notice. Glad we are safe on the ground…Haley and I are both fine everybody! Just waiting for another flight. No worries.”
Eventually, the situation was rectified without a problem — and the promotional schedules for both Haley and Erika are still on track to happen as scheduled.
Carrie Underwood on celebrity fragrances – Carrie Underwood may be a big star, but she doesn’t plan on going the way of Britney Spears (or even recently, Adam Levine) in releasing a celebrity fragrance in her name.
Speaking to AOL’s The Boot, Carrie (in rather hilarious fashion) made it clear why she has no plans to put a name on a scent:
“I really don’t know if I would do the whole fragrance thing … I don’t want to smell like anybody else … If people walked up to me smelling like me, it might weird me out,” she admits. “So that one’s not quite for me.”
Could she change her mind? It’s possible, especially since Levine used to be a staunch opponent of fragrances before changing his mind and creating one of his own.
Lauren Alaina takes on “Fox & Friends” – Finally, we have an interview from this weekend courtesy of season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina, who took to “Fox & Friends” to talk a bit about her life after “Idol,” touring with Sugarland, and even how often she sees Scotty McCreery now that the two are each doing their own thing.
While the interview did not offer too much in the way of insight as to Lauren’s life, it is always nice to see an “Idol” star get some press. (Is it just me, or does Lauren always sound a bit under-the-weather when she does interviews?)
As always, check back soon for more “Idol” news!
