‘The X Factor’ rumors: Simon Cowell denies Darren Criss, Stacy Keibler talk

Here’s some new scoop.

Despite the fact that the first season of “The X Factor” was a bit of a disappointment to many, the rumor mill is still going strong for season — mostly in the form of trying to figure out whether or not Simon Cowell is going to be booking any big names for the new competition in the fall.

Unfortunately, trying to get Simon to admit to anything at this point is like trying to get the “American Idol” judging panel to give a fair criticism. During a new interview with “Access Hollywood,” Cowell was coy on the rumors about Britney Spears being a judge for season 2, mostly due to what seemed to be some nervousness on his part to reveal his cards too quickly. (Reports are that the two are in heated salary negotiations — the show has offered Britney $10 million, while the pop megastar wants twice that to take part.)

At least the good thing about Cowell is that he will deny rumors left and right — including the following two people who were talked about as potential hosts:

Darren Criss – Surprisingly, Cowell doesn’t even have much of a crew who Darren even is at this point. Maybe he show watch “Glee” more often? Nonetheless, the clueless answer here is a fair indicator that Criss is not being considered.

Stacy Keibler – In what was rather surprising to hear, Simon actually said that the 5’11” Keibler was “too tall” for the program. Is this him being coy? Maybe (and we hope so), since this is otherwise rather strange. After all, “Fashion Star” host Elle Macpherson is 6′, Cat Deeley is 5’9”, and his original host Steve Jones is 6’4”. As long as the host can do a good job, we don’t care what their height is, what they look like, or whether or not they’ve sang a note in their lives.

At this point, who do you want to see as the hosts / judges for next season?
