We love it when shows take risks, and “30 Rock” is proving yet again that they are more willing to test themselves more than just about any other show.
Speaking in an interview with “Extra,” Alec Baldwin confirmed that the April 26 episode is going to mark the second live episode ever for the series, and it will be the last episode that the show goes into production for this season. (However, it will not be the last one to air.)
From a ratings standpoint, it makes sense why the show would want to do this. It turns what is a DVR-friendly show into an event, especially in the event that there are some spontaneous moments that no one sees coming. It’s to be seen whether or not the show is going to air the show live on the West Coast, as well, which opens the door for two possible shows worth watching.
Are you thrilled for more live “30 Rock,” or do you think this is something that is better done only once?
