‘The Voice’ notes: Adam Levine’s ‘American Horror Story’ gig and more

There's plenty going on.

Usually, we just save these sorts of “notes” for the “American Idol” universe — but to be frank, there is so much going on in the “Voice” community at the moment that it’s deserving of a similar article all of its own.

Adam Levine’s “Horror” gig – On the surface, it seems like a strange move — but considering that Ryan Murphy is a bit of an evil genius, it’s hard to question what the “American Horror Story” co-creator is up to.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Levine is in talks to play one half of a mysterious pair called “the lovers” on season 2 of the FX drama, which is set to take place in a mental hospital gone bad on the east coast. This is the first acting gig that Levine has landed for a TV show, and Murphy apparently wants him so bad that he is willing to work around the Maroon 5 shooting schedule in addition to plans for “The Voice” season 3, which is going to air in the fall. (Levine has already inked a contract.)

Blake hires Gwen Sebastian – If you are a contestant considering audition for the show, we have some advice for you — pick Blake Shelton if he turns around. After all, the guy gives his former team members better opportunities than anyone.

Take for instance this new report from Country Weekly that he has hired Gwen Sebastian to be a part of his touring band — despite eliminating her in the battle rounds Monday night. Talk about a consolation prize! This comes after Blake has already extensively promoted the word of two of his other contestants from the past in Dia Frampton and Xenia.

Cee Lo’s cat is … not completely his – While this story may at first make you upset, there is still a nice ending to it. Despite seeing Purrfect on a number of occasions throughout this season, it turns out that the cat is not really owned full-time by judge Cee Lo Green.

In a new story by USA Today, it is revealed that Cee Lo lends the cat from a rental company. However, it is not strictly used for the show — Cee Lo (who is a lifelong animal lover) first took in the cat as a way for him to have some comfort while away from his hometown of Atlanta, but he travels too much to be able to care for the animal full-time. (It was apparently his idea to bring her onto the show.)

Cee Lo is hoping to bring Purrfect on board the live shows if the training goes through without a problem.

A Shields Brothers performance – Finally, we’ll close with the recently-eliminated Shields Brothers tributing Cee Lo in song … mostly because it’s that much fun.
