With us now having a little bit more distance from Monday night’s polarizing “Pretty Little Liars” finale, we’re going to try (with a few deep breaths) to try and move forward to season 3. After all, we’ve learned quite a bit about it over the course of the past 24 hours.
-The most important thing to note is that Janel Parrish (Mona) has been made a series regular for season 3. This means that we will be seeing even more of her, which makes perfect sense considering [spoiler!] that her character is “A,” and we are going to want some more answers about who she’s working with.
-Speaking of this mystery, Parrish announced in a conference call Tuesday afternoon that we would be finding out more soon about the visitor who arrived at the Radley Sanitarium. We also know that it’s theoretically possible that she could end up getting released at some point and be sent back to school.
-There will be a significant time jump of six months between the season 2 finale and the start of season 3, and we will pick up with the two-year anniversary of Alison’s disappearance. It will also be the one-year anniversary of Aria being back in town.
-Speaking of Aria, she and Ezra are still going to be trying to work out their relationship. Let’s just hope he has a job by then…
-When it comes to other couples, expect Caleb and Toby to still be around, and trying to make things work with Hanna and Spencer despite all they have went through.
-The one thing that we are finding incredibly interesting at the moment is while showrunner Marlene King is being relatively open about the “A” storyline, she is staying incredibly tight-lipped about what happened to Maya. We can assume that there will be an investigation here, and there are of course plenty of theories that this murder is linked to what happened to Ali.
-Shooting season 3 starts early next month, and the show returns on Tuesday, June 5 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Check back soon for more information on all things “PLL” leading up to the show returning!
