Ready for a special podcast? While we don’t typically cover Animation Domination in this format, it felt like a waste with a resident “Simpsons” expert in the CarterMatt family in Jason Prager to not discuss what was a very controversial night of TV on Sunday night.
We’ll start by saying this: There are very strong opinions ahead! We had some major disagreements on whether or not the Krusty the Clown story about his father’s death was worth the price of admission, and worth all of the relentless hype that went into it beforehand. Still, we went into this episode piece by piece, talking about some of the individual moments that we found particularly hilarious within here.
Meanwhile, we also touched in here heavily on the big “Family Guy” – “Simpsons” crossover event, which turned out to be one of the highest-rated special episodes for either show in a long time. Was it any good? While there’s some agreement that there was a lot of padding to make it an hour long, there were at least some funny moments. Also, we ask one other important question: Was there ever a way that something like this really could be that great, or was it always destined to be somewhat disappointing thanks to the pure nature of the crossover and the expectations that come with that?
