Last season, “Glee” kicked off a bit of a tradition in having one of their episodes exceeding the familiar run time — and to this day, “Born This Way” still contains some of the most-memorable performances in the show’s short history.
So is it possible that we are going to be seeing the same sort of thing again? Well, the answer is both yes and no. We’re actually going to an episode that is even longer than “Born This Way,” which clocked in at 90 minutes long.
Fox has announced that the episode of “Glee” airing on May 15 is going to run for two hours, though there has been no defined reason why just yet. Is it possible that this is going to mark the rumored “Tommy” tribute we first talked about here? The show is obviously either planning something rather grand musically for the penultimate episode of season 3, or they simply realize that they have so much content in between graduation and nationals that an hour is not going to cut it.
On a different programming-related note, the May 22 season finale is going to be airing an hour later at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, with the primary reason being that Fox wants to use “American Idol” as a strong lead-in.
What are you hoping to see the show do when it comes to filling in these two hours?
