Donny said in an interview after the game that he voted for Cody to honor his promise. He had told Cody one morning in the backyard that if Cody made it to the final two that he(Donny) would vote for him. He was not bitter toward Derrick and even implied that the best player had won.

Let’s be honest about the AFP for Donny, the alleged 5 million votes is likely way lower as each voter was allowed 20 votes over 5 or 6 days, in reality it was more likely around 50,000 or less people voting depending on how many email addresses they used to sign into CBS.

Zach was playing a character while Donny was genuine. That is why Donny won AFP.
