Dallas is one of TNT's lowest rated shows. Networks always cancel their lowest rated shows and replace them with new shows to try to improve their average.

Dallas is not the only TNT show that gets a boost with DVR. They all do. At the end of the day, it's still one of TNT's lowest rated shows.

DVR views (within 3 days of original broadcast) are already included in the C3 metric the renewal decisions are based on (which is similar to the anemic 0.4 demo rating the show is averaging).

What bothers me about this is you suggest that Dallas is likely gone at TNT. I could not disagree more. Can you show me 1 piece of factual evidence that suggests this? As you know "ratings" themselves are very different than what they once were. Although Dallas has lost 1/2 it's viewers since season 1 let me lay out my argument. Season 1 TNT knew it would get an unsustainable boost because of old viewers and the "nostalgia" factor. Season 2 brought us the death of Larry Hagman thus causing another dip. This season however despite the slow start, the ratings have leveled off, and actually seen increases in each of the last 2 weeks. Dallas is averaging about a 1.9 share but when you factor in the DVR's they are doing a 2.7 - 2.8. DVR's matter and TNT know it, they also know that Dallas is up against a very strong Monday evening lineup.....Finally once again this past Monday Dallas had the leading hashtag on twitter. It has consistently been a leader in "second screen" ratings and is a social media powerhouse, while social media "ratings" aren't as important as the traditional viewership ratings they are still a key factor in a networks decision whether to continue or cancel a show. Finally a couple of months ago TNT held their 2015 "upfront" event where they teased their 2015 lineup to get sponsors excited to spend their money with Turner. Not only was Dallas included in their "upfront" presentation, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were there shaking hands and kissing babies. What TNT is doing by not announcing their direction with Dallas is less about poor ratings and more about providing a cliffhanger of their own (thus increasing their social media ratings) keeping their loyal fans on the hook, hanging on every rumor......Typical Dallas.....

This series should be somewhere on tv. It is one of most well acted ones with good stores and is better than half the junk that is on tv right now. Hopefully, someone will pick it up. I think Saturday would be a great idea.
