We’re still not exactly sure how Ben Flajnik plans on getting back to a normal life following his time on “The Bachelor,” but the guy is apparently going to try.
The only press that Ben and his new fiancee Courtney Robertson are doing is a cover story via People Magazine, and Ben told this publication what his simple goal seems to be at the moment — trying to find a way to get people to realize that most of what we saw on TV was the result of an incomplete story:
“[We hope that] people will get a better understanding of who we are and why we’re still together.”
So will this really happen? It’s going to be tough. At this point in time, Ben and Courtney have a public reputation that is so low that it’s hard to even fathom, and to and extent we are really unsure why. Did Courtney behave badly on national TV? Sure. Did Ben make some bad mistakes, in particular abandoning his fiancee when the going got tough? Definitely. But at the end of the day, these are just two people on a dating show trying to have a relationship together. This is what makes “The Bachelor” such a tough experience to go through — while at least on a show like “Survivor” you still have a personal life, nothing is really sacred here.
Do you think we should really care so much about Ben and Courtney’s relationship all things considered — especially now that the season is over?
