We have some breaking “American Idol” news to report at the moment, and it could be something that changes the entire landscape for the top 12 as we know it.
As first reported by TMZ, a contestant will be kicked off during the top 12 show on Wednesday for concealing crimes from producers. The contestant in question reportedly has outstanding warrants, and hid them from producers in an effort to make themselves a viable candidate on the show.
We don’t know for sure how this situation will be addressed on the show for sure, but the early indications are that they were confronted on-camera Tuesday about their past and the footage will be shown during the live performance show.
As for who the guilty party here, Jermaine Jones posted this message on Twitter: “Awww I will no longer b on the show.” He did not say, however, whether the allegations listed above are true, and it is too early for us to fill in the details about what happened until we hear the full story.
What do you think about this stunning turn of events? (Update: Jermaine has since removed the message from his Twitter. We’re not sure what this means — as it’s possibly just “Idol” trying to squelch the story before the episode airs — but we are going to be keeping track of this every step of the way.)
