Rather than do a full-fledged, “American Idol” notes for Tuesday afternoon, we have a bit announcement that is going to make fans of a few specific former contestants more than a little bit excited.
According to news first posted by The Hollywood Reporter, Haley Reinhart and David Cook have both been confirmed to be performing for some upcoming results shows. In the case of Haley, she is going to perform her new single “Free” on March 22, which is just two days after the song actually debuts. (You can hear the concert version of it at the bottom of this article.)
As for Cook, his performance is set to be coming up at some point this May, and it marks the fourth straight year that “Idol” has let the season 7 champ come on board for some sort of performance.
As you’ve likely already heard, Daughtry is set to perform “Outta My Head” on Thursday’s results show, and some of the other upcoming musical guests (at least with past “Idol” connections) include James Durbin, Adam Lambert, and reigning champ Scotty McCreery. While it has not been announced yet, we would be stunned if this season goes by without Carrie Underwood also turning up at some point.
How excited are you about this news?
