‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert remixes, Jeremy Rosado performance

The remixes are out.

We announced over the weekend that there would be some remixes coming up for Adam Lambert’s new single “Better Than I Know Myself,” and as a part of this afternoon version of the “American Idol” notes we have the audio of the three new versions of the song that have been released thanks to his RCA label.

So how are they? Overall, they are certainly worthy of dancing around the room to while belting the chorus at the top of your lungs. The Alex Ghenea remix is our personal favorite, mostly because it feels the most like an ’80s synth ballad that we would love to hear at the tail end of an indie film. It may not be the biggest departure of the three from the original version, but the instrumentation adds a new layer of charm to the song.

Meanwhile, we are a bit more torn over the other two remixes. We love the heavy use of the dubstep in the Robert Marvin version of the song, but the Dave Aude mix really doesn’t do as much for us outside of supplying a faster tempo.

Which version of the song do you like the most? Be sure to take our poll at the bottom of this article! If you like the songs, be sure to head over to Adam’s official site and pick them up. Support your “Idol” alumni, people!

Now, let’s move on to a pair of stories concerning this current season:

Jeremy hits “Live!” – Just like last season and many before it, the eliminated contestant is spending the following week this year  on a bit of a whirlwind media tour. For Jeremy, this meant starting things out by making a stop by the “Live! with Kelly” stage.

On Monday morning’s show, Jeremy performed his version of Sara Bereilles’ “Gravity” (which immediately makes us think of this here) for Kelly and guest host Kyle MacLachlan, and we really think he did a pretty great job. Rather than just belting out the high notes early, the song actually had the much-need room to build before coming to its emotional pinnacle near the end. If he performed like this last week, we do think Jeremy may actually still be there over Elise Testone. (Then again, Shannon Magrane was really the one who deserved to be in the bottom two rather than Elise.)

Is Phillip okay? – In other news relating to this season, Heejun Han confirmed on his Twitter account that Phillip Phillips has still been feeling “sick” as of late. Does this mean that the Southern rocker (who had to see a doctor last week for abdominal pain) is still in bad shape? Well, that fact that Heejun used the word “was” rather than “is” in relation to Phillip’s condition is a good sign.

We don’t expect Phillip to have any further problems pending a future setback, and he should be able to perform this week without any problem.
