In reply to <a href="https://cartermatt.com/129852/tnts-dallas-season-3-episode-10-preview-first-look-new-dead-reckoning/#comment-137563">Miss Green</a>.

I like it as a summer show as well, I actually missed the first 2 eps (bought them at Amazon!) because i saw Dallas stuff on my DVR but needed space and thought they were all re-runs.
I disagree about VP and no Susan - who did she play for a brief time when she was on the original show? I like Bobby having a fresh start. (And i think SL is on that Maids show)
I will definitely send a concise but strong bit of e-mail to TNT, thanks for the heads up!

I love the hell out of this show, so what follows is constructive
critique. This is my part of the world. I grew up having "fancy"
occasions at the Petroleum Club (JR's wake was held there), my
grandfather's name was JR, which was great fun when there was product
tie-in, my Gran had an "I {heart} JR" mug, etc. So i have a enormous
vested interest in this show doing well. I miss Larry every week too,
damn it. He was awesome and i am so glad we at least had him for a
while.
No way do we need a VP return, she isn't interested and
she's always tried to distance herself from "Dallas". (And Brenda Strong is an excellent actress and very likable) I think having her die was the right choice and it was done really well. I think we
had the perfect amount of legacy and new characters on the current show- other shows that try to re-boot should pay attention to Dallas, it's
the best re-boot ever. I love that they film in Dallas, it is great to
see places i know like the back of my hand (i live near).

But this is not where we tell them to keep the show on, you do have to write to TNT or you're simply preaching to the choir.

I do want to see the WOMEN finally be strong and not pawns. That is my
only disappointment with the current show. I loved Ann's strength and
compassion, then the next thing we knew, she needed some sort of "shot"
(still not sure what that was about) to cope with her daughter not
immediately embracing her. Elena is being jerked around BIG time by
whatever his name is (pregnancy coming soon! Who is the Baby Daddy...
snore), Pamela seems to have forgotten the reason she hated and wanted revenge against her ass of a father was that he DID kill her babies - he and all of them need to, like the audience has, stop giving a rip about Digger Barnes and what he lost or getting payback from innocent people for what any dead characters have done.
Emma - also a weak female character. She is truly pathetic, thinks she can only steal strength from men by using her body (to make her truly strong, she really needs to choose to go to rehab, her Dad disgustingly has her fully addicted to meds that are a beeotch to stop cold, it's actually dangerous for the body). Clean her up and give her a real identity that she builds.
STRONG WOMEN needed! Oh, I almost forgot Sue Ellen! Her son is grown and she needs to quit caving to him & making bad choices to "help" him. He is what, 30ish? I would LOVE to see her truly stop drinking too. Why are the women all self-medicating, cut it out, ladies.

The whole show has turned into the equivalent of someone showing up to my house and saying, "My family lived here a thousand years ago - you have to leave now and give it back to me or I'll ruin your life". <-- sound stupid? It is. And it's what the Digger and even JR stuff being a problem still is like. These men are gone (esp Digger! Who cares! No one but Cliff) I laughed when Elena said something about the land that belonged to her father being her "Ancestral land" :0) Bleck. Write for NOW and
strengthen the females - in present day Dallas, TX, we aren't just arm
candy. And the Ramos men? They died from avarice, not because of what happened with the land swap.

Sorry, i don't have anyone to talk to about the show and i guess i had a lot of thoughts :0)

Dallas TNT, only the 1st episode! Ratings down, Hogwash!!! This is a highly popular show with fans that will never quit!.. TNT, keep in mind that fans are watching. Keep this as a summer show, include some of the old regulars on the show & do what it takes to get Victoria Principal back if for only a "Guest Star" episode or episodes during each season. No one will fit with Bobby Ewing except her!! If not her, maybe Susan Lucci! Think about that. Still DALLAS TNT FOREVER & A DAY!
