There’s quite a bit to cover in Thursday’s edition of “American Idol” notes, and we’re especially happy that we are going to be able to kick things off with a laugh this time around.
Heejun Han and Phillip Phillips get (incredibly) silly – After this season is over, someone just needs to get these two guys their own sitcom. They are obviously good friends, and much of this interview with “Access Hollywood” was spent trying to make each other as uncomfortable as humanly possible while at the same time answering questions about how they actually did performing the hits of Stevie Wonder.
Our favorite moment? When Heejun prompted the interviewer to stroke Phillip’s chest hair.
Failed Adam Lambert concert leads to lawsuit – Let this be a lesson for anyone out there looking to potentially book Adam Lambert for a concert — you better have more than just $80,000 at your disposal.
According to a new report from TMZ, a UK-based company known as Madison Universal has filed a lawsuit against a promotional group named Family Productions after they failed to book the season 8 superstar for a pair of concerts in Russia and the Ukraine for just $80,000. The issue here? Madison handed over an $8,000 deposit, and never received it back. (They also contacted Adam’s agent and quickly learned that booking the singer for such a pair of gigs would run close to $500,000.)
Luckily, this suit does not impact Adam directly in any way — his name and talent is just the focal point of some failed negotiations.
No Casey Abrams on Haley Reinhart’s album – Sad news for Haley Reinhart fans hoping to see her partner-in-crime make an appearance on her upcoming debut — it’s not happening, despite the two parties releasing a duet of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” during the holiday season.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Haley admitted that she and Casey did work together on a song, but it is one that will unfortunately not be making it on the album when it is released this coming May:
“There was a tune that I wrote about four years ago that I wish could make the album. Casey played all the instruments on it and helped me figure out the arrangement. But it’s not going to be on this one. We’re definitely going to be doing stuff together. And he has asked me about his album as well so if time permits, we’ll be mixing and matching.”
Scotty McCreery added to CMA Music Fest – This is just a brief headline, but it should be noted that the season 10 champ is joining Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, and others for a concert taking place from June 7-10 at LP Field in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Tommy Hilfiger signing on for fashion advice – Do you want to be a star? Then you have to look like a star! This seems to be the argument of “Idol,” who has signed on Tommy Hilfiger to be a fashion consultant to help the contestants work on their image. He will be making his first appearance during the results show set to air next week.
As always, stay tuned for more things from the “Idol” universe!
