We have an update when it comes to the future of “Terra Nova” following its cancellation on Fox — and while this is in no way evidence that the show is going to find a second life, it is nonetheless encouraging.
According to Deadline, Netflix is in the process of undergoing some preliminary talks with production house 20th Century Fox about keeping the show around in some capacity. While this is still a long shot, it would not be unheard of — the video service did recently work with the studio in order to revive “Arrested Development” for some new “where are they now?” episodes airing next year.
Out of all the possibilities out there for “Nova,” this may be the best choice. Even though the ratings weren’t necessarily bad, few networks are going to be willing to take on a show with such a large budget that has already failed once before to find the audience desired. Netflix would give the show a chance to flex some creative muscles, and from the standpoint of someone interested in the future of television it would be fascinating to see how the show holds up in this medium.
What do you think about this news, and do you think there is an option out there actually better than Netflix?
