Mrs. Carter – Snooki’s already got the pickle cravings covered.
By now, you have probably heard the news — Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is officially pregnant, and she and Jionni LaValle are in the process of celebrating their upcoming arrival. Both parties took to their Twitter accounts Tuesday morning to express their happiness (while also simultaneously calling out all the people saying terrible things about the two online):
Jionni: “Thank You everyone!! Sorry about that wait but glad everyones happy!! Nicole and I are real excited!! Our baby is going to be #ShortnTan … For All u jealous, disrespectful haters out there, u see what u wana see on tv! My fiancé and I n JR are going to be so happy! #youllgeturs”
So what does this announcement mean to “Jersey Shore” fans? In the Us Weekly story, Snooki confirms that she won’t take part in the original version of the MTV show while pregnant, and with this we have to wonder whether or not she is done for good with the hard-partying ways of Seaside Heights. The show has been a showcase of reckless behavior for five seasons, and everything changes when you watch someone act this way who is also a mother.
We don’t see any reason, though, why MTV would stop making seasons of their highest-rated show, and they are probably going to need to replace Snooki with someone who can bring somewhere near the same level of entertainment. Recurring star Ryder seems like one possibility if the show wants to cast from within, but she seems to be less involved with the GTL lifestyle as the other people in the house. While we would actually love to see them bring back Angelina Pivarnick (just for drama alone), the other cast members would probably walk out the moment they saw her start stirring up trouble.
Are you happy for Snooki, and what do you think that her pregnancy means for the future of the “Shore” franchise? The pint-sized “guidette” is the process of filming her new spin-off series, and it’s safe to bet that babies will be a key part of the conversation.
