If they cancel this show I will take A&E of my tv schedule its the only show they have had that was worth watching I have been waiting for it to come back.

I hope another station picks up Longmire, It could run as long as Gunsmoke. It is the best show A&E had and they say the AGE ratings are too low!!! What about the rest of us who are either younger or older then they Prime Age Rating, don’t we count? Stupid decision A&E.

to me longmier is one of the best shows out there. the characters are well played and seem real enough.so much more than zombie hunters. the values that are portrayed by the show are certainly a pleasant change from some of the junk thats out there. longmier is a pleasant combination of a modern day cowboy in a beautiful setting. the storys are mostly very interesting. but the best part of the show are the characters and the people who portray them.i have been hooked form the beginin and would be shocked and amazed if the show isnt renewed. not to mention very very sad

It is asinine at this point to place so much emphasis on the 18-49 demographic. According to the Wikipedia, ” Due to its strength in young demos, Friends was able to charge almost three times as much for a commercial as Murder, She Wrote”.

Okay. That is two decades ago, when Baby Boomers were the majority of the 18-49 demographic and, as a result, were the majority of the viewing audience. However, the Millennials are not sitting around watching television, nor are they the people most likely to be reached through advertising. It is the Boomers they need to be reaching out to. We’re the ones who have jobs and want to spend a quiet evening sitting home and watching television and buying stuff.

The Neilsen ratings system is just another dinosaur that has not realized that it needs to evolve or die, but still roars loudly enough that they put fear into their prey, the sponsors.

Longmire is a great show , It right up there with Gunsmoke …It’s hard to believe they would drop such a popular show ….but having said that , I still to this day can’t believe they dropped America’s Most Wanted… very popular and did a lot of good …

18-49 demographic. Bah! Advertisers should be aiming for an older group. THEY are the ones with grown children, and the most disposable income. Don’t see too mant 25 year olds driving a fully loaded Dodge Ram or having a need for Cialis….just saying.

This is the only television show I have watched this summer-while the background story arc was a bit dragged out, the show is well-scripted, well-cast and far superior to what passes for programming on network TV.
Maybe a “Longmire vs. Sharknado” episode would help the ratings…
