I wonder if Acte 2 were able to pick the selections they want of only from the list suggested by the producers. With so many beautiful duets in opera they could’ve picked – barcarolle, The Evening Prayer from Hansel and Gretel, Sul’aria, etc., even many classical songs, they picked this song. I wonder if it really was their choice. I do wish the producers didn’t meddle, I understand copyright issues, but copyright issues do not exist for opera selections when the composers are long dead. I do like them, but I’d prefer any of opera selections. Hansel and Gretel while in German originally is often performed in English as it’s such a great show for children, so I don’t see while they didn’t choose The Evening Prayer.

Acte 2 was the best and should be in the final top 3. Mat Franco is fantastic. The straight dancer should dump the gay guy and get a beautiful girl. Dancing is about romance and this duo just doesn’t make it. The dull comic is terrible and the little gal with the big voice just forces too much. The dance group is very visual and entertaining. The teen trio should not have even made it this far and so to for the young guy singer. Both very amateurish.
