The first X-Files film continued the story at the end of Season 5 and through the start of Season 6 and it worked!

I think Season 10 of 24 could be about Kate rescuing Jack from the Russians.(With help from Chloe and friends) Once Jack is freed and reunited with his friends, he is told that Kim is in danger and he has 2 hours to save her life.

There is your movie and even people who didn’t just watch the series, can still understand the story of Jack trying to save his daughter!

In reply to Art. The reality is that a movie would have to pander to people who haven't seen the show before. Meaning it would probably be a new separate story.

Why not have both? Have a 10-12 episode Season 10 that ends with 2 hours left in the 24 hour day. Then do a 2 hour real time full length feature film!
