‘American Idol’s’ David Archuleta leaves for mission at end of March (Video)

He’s leaving in a month

When former ‘American Idol’ David Archuleta announced that he was going to be leaving the music industry for roughly two years on a mission with the Church of Ladder Day Saints everyone wanted a piece of him before he left – and rightly so since we will be without his gorgeous voice for a while.

Archuleta recently traveled to the Philippines for a role on a TV5 series (that he had booked before his mission announcement), has had numerous appearances and gigs, worked with Bench on their advertising campaign and is currently working on his Filipino OPM album as well as some covers for his American fans before he takes off on his mission at the end of March. Busy guy!

One thing that people love about David is that he has always been fantastic at keeping his fans up to date on what he’s up to through his video blogs and with his latest one entitled ‘One Month’ he talks about what his plans are for his last month before he takes off on his mission.  He said;

“While I’ve been home I’ve really been enjoying spending time with my family, I’m getting to just see them.  I have been working on, listening to the masters of the Forever More OPM album. So we’re just working on that, getting the songs finished up.  Also working on an album here that we’re going to release in the US, gonna be doing just some good covers that are sort of in tune with where I’m going next in my life.”

Check out David’s full video blog below and let us know if you are excited for the journey he’s about to take or if you are disappointed that he won’t be making music and appearances for the next two years.
