AMC spoils major ‘Walking Dead’ plot line by mistake

Someone at AMC made a mistake

Whoever is in charge of updating AMC’s official website is likely in some serious trouble after they accidentally posted a major spoiler for ‘The Walking Dead‘.

AMC had a brand new advertisement up on their website yesterday (It’s gone now) for the release of their season two DVD compilation, unfortunately the ad revealed a major story line that will be coming up in a future episode.  The advertisement has been taken down and Entertainment Weekly reports that a representative from AMC released a statement about the mess up.  They said; “The post on the AMC store was completely unauthorized. The matter is currently under investigation.”

If you don’t want the season spoiled for you stop reading now – for those of you who want to know what happened on the AMC website, keep reading.

The advertisement revealed that Shane (Jon Bernthal) is a goner at the end of the season, which isn’t really a shock for those of you who have read the comic, but for those that haven’t it was a major mess up for AMC.

Bernthal’s departure from the ‘The Walking Dead’ also makes a lot of sense since he is going to be starring on Frank Darabont’s brand new TNT pilot called ‘L.A. Noir’.

Besides ruining the show for a few fans that didn’t want to know what happened, the advertisement also promised some cool features in the DVD like the making of Herschel’s barn and an extended zombie gut scene.  You can pre-order the 13 episodes for $99.99, but it won’t actually be released until August.
