Earlier today, we were hoping to present you with the news that Kris Allen had finally released his new single “The Vision of Love” — but unfortunately, the audio that hit the internet ended up being a link that was promptly removed from the internet.
Rather than just try to play some sort of juggling act involving posting and re-posting different versions of Allen’s song (especially since that comes with all sorts of false expectations), we will instead leave you with this — the new single by the former “American Idol” champ is coming out on March 4. While it is not necessarily official that it will be “The Vision of Love” (which we are guessing has the article stuck on front to differentiate itself from the Mariah Carey song of the same name), it’s pretty likely that this will be the case.
Since we have heard multiple versions of the song (including what is believed to be the studio cut), we can say that Allen did a good job finding not only a hook that should appeal to adult-contemporary crowd, but also a message that suits his story and his fan base. Melodically it’s Allen’s best song yet, though when it comes to the arrangement we actually do prefer the dance club remix below — if for no other reason than that it was almost refreshing to see how well his voice worked when dropped in front of club beats.
There’s also a live version of the song that you can hear below from a recent concert at The Mint, but be warned that the quality here is not the best and is no substitute for the actual studio version.
Overall, we really like what we’re hearing with this song. Do you think this could be the hit Kris needs to get into the forefront of music?

(Update: Kris has now announced that the song will be available a bit later than expected on March 26 at Walmart, and on iTunes the following day.
