With two spots available on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel for season two, fans have been anxious to find out who Simon Cowell will be hiring for the gig.
There have been rumors that everyone from Beyonce to Britney Spears will be the new judges, but one person that many thought was a lock was Janet Jackson. Rumors of Janet joining the judging panel really began to take off two weeks ago when the singer sat down with Anderson Cooper and was quick to dodge questions about her joining the show. When asked if she was a judge on the show, she said;
“No, I am not, but that’s all I really think I should say.”
Now reports from The Insider say that Jackson is officially out of the running and won’t be a judge on the show. While she was flattered that producers were considering her, she said that it wouldn’t be ‘possible’ at this time due to other commitments. She said;
“[I’m] very flattered that X Factor let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn’t be possible.”
With Janet’s ‘Number Ones Up Close and Personal Tour’ kicking off this summer and a commitment to Lionsgate she felt it was “unrealistic” to take on another project with so little time to offer. Jackson’s representative’s added;
“There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to X-Factor.”
Guess what everyone thought was her sly response on Anderson Cooper wasn’t anything more than an awkward moment in the interview.
