‘American Idol’ winner, Scotty McCreery, has had one of the most successful post-Idol careers in recent history and it just keeps getting stronger.
His first single ‘I Love You This Big’ has already gone gold and his debut album ‘Clear As Day’ surpassed gold and was certified platinum after he brought in sales of over 1 million units in only three months. Now McCreery has reached another goal in his burgeoning country music career as his second single ‘The Trouble With Girls’ has just reached gold status after selling 500,000 units, making this his third consecutive release that has reached gold certification.
McCreery recently spoke about ‘The Trouble With Girls’ reaching gold status and said that this honor is really “special” to him. He said;
“Having the first single go gold was crazy, but having the second single go gold and to see the response it is getting in our shows is incredible. I wish I could come up with better words than ‘wild’ and ‘incredible,’ because this is really special. It’s a huge honor. I’m glad the single is doing well and I’m looking forward to keep singing it on the road.”
Scotty has been on the road with country legend, Brad Paisley and The Band Perry on Paisley’s ‘Virtual Reality Tour’ and has said that he’s having a great time connecting with the fans. He explained;
“As the weeks go by, we are seeing more and more fans singing it back to us. It’s a great feeling when you see that and see the fans appreciating your work. We’re having a good time out there. The tour is going great. Brad and The Band Perry are great people. I couldn’t think of a better tour to be on. I’m learning a lot every single night. We’re having a great time!”
