If you watched the Academy Awards on Sunday night, then odds are you already know a thing or two about who was present to help celebrate film’s biggest night. However, this was not the only venue that was paying host to some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood.
Not far from the theater formerly known as the Kodak, Elton John was hosting his annual Oscar viewing party benefiting his AIDS Foundation, and there was a great combination of both charity and celebration.
So who was in attendance for the bash? Here a few notes from the glamorous evening:
-While Jennifer Lopez was presenting during the Oscars proper, there were still some “American Idol” connections courtesy of judge Steven Tyler (who had already auctioned off a seat at his table for Elton’s charity) and season 8 alum Adam Lambert — who was present alongside boyfriend Sauli Koskinen. As for some other musicians who were present for the gala, they include Adam’s friend Katy Perry and former “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus.
-“Glee” also made a rather large footprint at the show. Darren Criss, his onscreen love interest Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison, and even one-time guest star Ashley Fink (Lauren Zizes) were among some of the big names that showed up. In what was a bit of a rather interesting moment, Fink and Colfer spent a little while taking some photos next to Dave Grohl, who at one point slammed Ryan Murphy for suggesting that all artists should automatically want their songs covered on the hit Fox show. (The Foo Fighters frontman never really slammed “Glee” itself, but just said that the show wasn’t his cup of tea.)
-Not only were Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev of “The Vampire Diaries” both present at the gala, but they also managed to raise $80,000 by auctioning off a “vampire bite” for charity.
-The Kardashian family continued their trend of showing up at various awards-show after-parties this year, as Kim and a pregnant Kourtney each decided to hit up the show.
-Following some headlines regarding her split from singer Seal, “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum showed up in a lavish yellow gown.
-As for some of the other major stars from the TV community present at the event, they included the likes of Stana Katic (“Castle”) and Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) — who turned up with his longtime significant other David Burtka.
Overall, John has managed in the past 20 years to make his dinner the go-to destination for any celebrity not at the Oscars — and considering the level of talent present this year, it has equaled the land of golden statues when it comes to star power.
