‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 9 preview: Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow in ‘The Watchers on the Wall’

Jon Snow -Next week on “Game of Thrones,” you will have an episode that may go down as one of the most important in the history of the show. Traditionally, the penultimate episodes of seasons are the ones that have the craziest things happen in them, in between the Battle of Blackwater and the Red Wedding.

So next week, we have “The Watchers on the Wall,” which is an episode that looks in theory to be quite a bit about what happens next with Jon Snow as the Night’s Watch faces a significant threat from the Wildings. While this may not be our favorite story of the entire season, it has been building towards this for quite a long time. There will be a battle, and there may be a significant body count at the end of it.

The official synopsis via HBO may not give that much away much in the way of details, but it is confirmation for everything that we’ve just said:

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the rest of the Night’s Watch face the biggest challenge to the Wall yet.”

There is one other interesting thing about this episode that you should take note of here when it comes to directors: Neil Marshall is helming this episode, and he is the same man behind the “Blackwater” episode during season 2. That should be some evidence that this will indeed be yet another action-packed episode, and one that could change the structure of things moving forward.
