‘American Idol’ notes: David Archuleta, Carrie Underwood and more (Video)

He’s coming home

Casey James album and tour excitement: Unlike other Idols, Casey James took a little longer to get his album together, but fans know that it’s going to be well worth the wait.  His debut album will be hitting store shelves on March 20 and shortly after he will be gearing up to tour.  He said; “The real truth is it breaks my heart to imagine somebody listening to one song off the album, because I built the album. Everything from the song choices to the production of the song to the sequencing to the lyrics—every single part of it—I built to be a singular piece. It’s meant to be an album you listen to from beginning to end. I can’t pick a favorite.”

Carrie Underwood nominations: Carrie Underwood has won a stack of awards since leaving the warm embrace of ‘American Idol’ and there are no signs of her success stopping.  Underwood has been nominated for two Aussie Music Awards: Music Video of the Year for her single ‘Mama’s Song’ and as International Artist of the Year.

Casey Abrams Valentine: Amanda Johnson won a Valentine’s Day contest in which the prize was a song written by Casey Abrams.  The song Casey wrote in 48 hours was for her boyfriend Michael called ‘Song for Michael’.  Casey posted a message on his Twitter about the song, saying: “Here you go, a song for your lover, Never sang about a dude before, good place to start though.”  Check out the video below to hear Casey’s love song.

David Archuleta comes home: David has been in the Philippines filming a soap series for TV5 in his very first acting gig and while he’s had a blast meeting his fans and working on new projects, he’s headed home to Utah to get ready for his mission with the Church of Ladder Day Saints.  Before he leaves on his mission, David has been busting his behind to some new music recorded for his fans, since he will be gone for two years.  He posted a new video blog and revealed his plans to record some music for us when he gets back to America.  He said: “I will still be working to get as much done for all you guys before I’m gone.”  Check out the video below for David’s full video blog.
