In reply to lynx. Except you're wrong. Penny comes to realize several time that she loves Leonard, and she understands that he's inexperienced with women. That's why even though she may get aggravated at times, she tolerates his behavior. It's far from miserable. And as for Amy, while she's manipulative she's as naive as Sheldon about relationships and is the one person who can tolerate his quirks.

Except Leonard makes Penny miserable (and a miserable drunk at that, instead of her previous happy-go-lucky one) and she shouldn’t BE in a relationship with her… and she abuses him… so they just don’t belong together at all. And Amy should just be off the show. She’s a manipulative cur who doesn’t help Sheldon (only herself) AND doesn’t make him more interesting.
