Mrs Carter: Things always have a way of coming back to haunt you.
Tareq Salahi and his ex-wife Michaele Salahi may not be on ‘The Real Housewives of DC’ anymore, but it sure hasn’t stopped the drama from happening.
After Michaele Salahi went missing one day, her husband Tareq thought she had been kidnapped, but it quickly came to light that she had run off with her long lost love, Journey guitarist Neal Schon. The divorce has been anything but friendly and now the Hollywood Reporter says that Tareq is suing not only Michaele for $50 million, but also Nomota Inc (the company behind Journey), and DD Entertainment LLC (the publicist for Schon and Salahi).
Tareq is claiming because of Michaele’s actions, he has been “emotionally and financially” ruined and says that she humiliated him as part of a plot to rake in some mad cash for Schon, Journey and of course herself. Tareq feels that his wife’s move to leave him in a blaze of tabloid glory happened at a perfect time for Journey as Schon and his band were about to go on tour and ended up having their most successful tour in 20 years. An excerpt from the court filed documents said;
“Journey was currently touring the country and the concerts were not selling out. Having been involved in the reality television business for several years, the defendants knew that a public affair would generate interest in both of them and immediate income for Neal Schon and Journey.”
Billboard named Journey the ‘Legend Of Live’ at the Billboard Touring Awards in 2011 and pulled in an astounding $40 million from nearly 700,000 concert tickets sold. Schon was at the event to accept the award and Michaele was by his side.
At this time the lawyers for all sides have not commented on the lawsuit.
