An interesting theory as well as a frightening one for Jane. The thought of possibility losing a loved spouse once again, would probably push Jane over the edge this time. Never to return.

However, I don’t think the producers and writers would go for this again, I do agree that a threat against Lisbon would be a strong possibility where a past enemy would use Lisbon to exact revenge on Jane. I don’t believe they would dare kill her, her own strength should be her salvation as well as Jane’s desperation to save her. I think the writers could come up with a real cliff-hanger.

That’s the magic of The Mentalist, super-great writers! I’ve never watched an episode I didn’t like. I think this show will last much longer than they think, and its not just Simon that draws the audience, the chemistry between the stars has always been the tie that binds these agents together. I really miss Rigsby and Van Pelt and hope they at least return occasionally.

Oh and what I wrote in the brackets should be that I believe Jane couldn’t move on with anybody but Lisbon not could, in case that mistake wasn’t apparent.

Jane also said when he ditched Lisbon at the cliff that she meant more to him then she would ever know.

Your relating though to real life with the latter, and as I’ve been told numours times when I try to relate real life to this show or any other, you can’t relate the show to real life.

Some people do move on after a loss of a loved one, I believe Jane is one of those people, though if it would be with Lisbon or not I don’t know. (I mean I believe that he could move on with anybody but Lisbon, just because he needs someone like her and it helps that if he really was discribing his wife in that dating video back in season three that Lisbon has some of the same qulities that his wife seemed to have, HOWEVER that doesn’t mean that I think that means that Jane and Lisbon may end up together.)

I hope they dont get together. I think their friendship bizarre as it can be sometimes has been built up over shared experiences and actions. its rare in a tv show to depict a male/female friendship that dosnt evolve into a romantic one. Jane has said it himself when he left Lisbon behind at the beach that she was a really great friends.. more than she will ever know.

I think thats it as far as that relationship goes. Im not sure he will ever ‘get’ over his wife and daughters killing even if years get put over the old wounds.

And some people dont. They meet someone, that person dies and they dont connect to another person again in that way.

Just because Lisbon asks how he feels about her leaving doesn’t mean she is unsure about going. She could be be asking how he feels only to know if he will be alright by himself if she does go. Remember they have been the only people each other has let get close to each other, as well as Lisbon has been shown to be the only person Jane will listen to and Lisbon has been the only one shown that has seemingly taken care of and made sure that he’s alright. That’s not to say I’m right, just giving another reason as to why Lisbon would be asking Jane how he feels.

Though since Lisbon says yes to moving with Pike, I’d say that on some level she is sure that it’s the right thing to do.

As for the commitment thing, remember that they whole point of the two year time jump was to show changes in the characters, so yes it is possible that she no longer gets cold feet at the thought of commitment.

To me in the last episode Lisbon seemed like herself, uncontfortable about talking about her private life. Jane, yes there seemed to be a hint of sadness.

I love Jane and Lisbon’s relationship. Always have, how they have developed it. Now it’s their turn to struggle to say what each feels for the other. Their body-language is the opposite of what they are saying: “I am happy, if you are happy” When you look at their facial expressions as they are saying it, there is a definite mismatch. This show is about being observant. However, being the smartest person in the room does not necessarily mean he can see clearly when his emotions are involved and they definitely are for both of them, that’s guaranteed. If Lisbon were sure, she would not ask Jane how he feels about her going to DC, she would be telling him she was going to DC.

Lisbon seems to have got cold feet when it came to commitment in the past, I wonder if anything has changed. We’ll see in the next 3 episodes.

There are so many layers to this show, I love it.

It’s not my fault that I’m looking at what is going on with a clear mind and aren’t letting what I would like to have happen cloud my judgment as everyone else seems to have.

If your so aware of what I have said in my comments, then you would know that I have repeatly said that I hope that I am wrong about what I say and that I would like to see Jane and Lisbon get together.

What makes you think that Jane will propose? I only ask because while I agree that would be the only way to change Lisbon’s mind, I find it hard to believe that he would do that, so I’m honestly wondering why you think he would.

What is it with you every spoiler about Jane and Lisbon and Pike as of late you have commented on saying just about the same thing.
