‘American Idol’s’ David Archuleta to record OPM album (Video)

He’s recording a new album

When David Archuleta announced that he was going to be leaving his music career behind for the next few years to work on a mission for the Church of Ladder Day Saints, fans were happy for the former ‘American Idol’, but at the same time they were disappointed that they would be losing such a fantastic musician.

Before embarking on his new adventure, Archuleta has been working hard to make sure that there are lots of fun projects to keep fans happy while he’s gone.  Besides working on the TV 5 series ‘Nandito Ako’ in his acting debut in the Philippines, David announced on his Twitter account last night that he will be recording an OPM album (Original Pilipino Music) before he takes off.  He wrote;

“It’s true, as a side project while in the Philippines, I’m recording an OPM album. Already almost done recording it actually haha. And for fans everywhere else, don’t worry there’s something for you coming too! Already working on the other projects! OPM is Original Pilipino Music. They’re in English though so I still think everyone will like them haha. We’re finishing fast!”

David has always been really great at keeping his fans up to date on his life and career through video blogs and he has just released a new video this morning that includes highlights from his trip to the Philippines.

Check out the video and let us know if you are excited about David’s OPM album.
