‘The Voice’s’ Adam Levine signs ‘Glee’s’ Matthew Morrison to label

Adam signed his first big artist

With all of Adam Levine’s talent, mentoring experience and knowledge of the music industry it was only a matter of time before he started his own record label.

The Voice’ coach announced on Thursday that his brand new label, 222 Records, has signed its first high profile singer, ‘Glee’ star Matthew Morrison, and that they will be distributing  Morrison’s second studio album.  Levine is “thrilled” to be starting up his own label and is excited to be working with Morrison on his album.  Adam said;

“Starting my own label has been a long-time goal of mine and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening.  I am excited for everyone to hear Matthew’s forthcoming album. Great things are in store for him with this release.”

Morrison’s first album hit music stores last May and was released by Mercury Records.  His album was met with a very positive response from fans and critics alike, so it’s not surprising to hear that Adam is ecstatic to have the ‘Glee’ star on his roster.  Adam is not the only one that is happy about the partnership with Matthew – Morrison has said that he is “excited” to be working with Levine as well.  He said;

“[I’m] excited to be working on my next album with such an incredible singer, writer and producer as Adam Levine. Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together.”

Morrison also posted a message on his Twitter account about collaborating with Adam, saying;

“This is a very exciting day for me as I’m starting work on my sophomore record with the incredible Adam Levine.”

Both Adam and Matthew have a lot of range and neither is afraid to experiment with new sounds, so this pairing seems like a perfect match.  It will be exciting to hear what they come up with for Morrison’s second album.
