Since leaving the warm embrace of ‘American Idol’ Kelly Clarkson has gone on to rock the nation as she sells out concert venues, heats up the Billboard charts and snags some of the biggest gigs in history like performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
After Kelly’s perfect rendition of the National Anthem, she shared the stage with other legends such as country superstar Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert who sang ‘American The Beautiful.’ The half time show featured the queen of pop Madonna and although there was a little controversy with one of her guest performers flipping the audience the bird (M.I.A.) her performance was still inspiring.
In honor of sharing the stage with Madonna on Sunday at Super Bowl XVLI, Clarkson decided to cover the Material Girl’s hit song ‘Crazy For You’ at her show in Bossier, Louisiana.
While on her ‘Stronger’ tour, Kelly has been incorporating a really cool feature into her shows where she performs a song that the audience requests on Twitter. When it came to that time during her Louisiana performance she told the crowd:
“This next one I’m going to do, I picked a cover, so I thought y’all should get to pick a cover. We’ve been doing this on tour, cause I got here from fans voting for me 10 years ago so it’s still cool that you all are involved in my show. This song was actually picked by a fan, two of them to be exact – Brian and Ally – I’m going to say your last name wrong, but I think it’s ‘Mau’. This is ‘Crazy For You’ by Madonna. I thought it’d be cool since Madonna’s doing the Half Time show.”
