‘X Factor’ signs L.A. Reid for season 2, who will replace Nicole and Paula?

He’s coming back for season 2

Simon Cowell shocked fans last week when Fox’s the ‘X Factor’ cleaned house leaving host Steve Jones and judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger out in the cold, but the one person they are holding onto is record producer L.A. Reid.

Reports say that the masterminds behind the show signed L.A. Reid on for season two on Friday, just days after the ‘X Factor’ bloodbath took place. While many felt that Paula and Nicole were a little wishy washy by refusing to chose a clear winner when contestants had to sing for their lives, L.A. Reid was always very confident behind his choices and stood behind his decisions.

Now that there are two spots to fill on the judging panel, the rumor mill has been going at full speed as media outlets speculate on who will be the replacement judges.  Mariah Carey has been at the top of the list as Simon has made it no secret that he wants her on the panel, however her husband Nick Cannon seems to think that it’s unlikely that Carey would do the show and actually called it a “step down” for her.  During a broadcast of his ‘Rollin’ with Nick Cannon’ radio show last week, he said;

“Like Nicole Scherzinger, my wife is not a fan of judging people.  Nicole actually did say that she is used to performing and the judging thing is not really natural for her.  I think that a lot of entertainers feel this way and I believe, I don’t know.  Personally, I think these shows are really good shows, but when you get someone of status or just is big-time career-wise to do these shows, I personally think it’s a step down.”

Another singer that has been rumored to be entertaining a $100 million dollar deal with the ‘X Factor’ is Beyonce.  Cowell has allegedly offered the new mother $100 million per season to judge the show and he feels that Beyonce is just what the show needs to beat out ‘American Idol’.

Who do you think would be best to replace Paula and Nicole?  Do you want to see more singers on the judging panel or more industry people?  Leave us a comment and tell us what you think.
