‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard feels like a ‘hypocrite’ for doing the show

She is scared to be on the show

After ‘Bachelor’ Brad Womack and Emily Maynard ended their engagement, producers of the hit reality show wanted Emily to be the next ‘Bachelorette’ after America fell in love with her and her heartbreaking story, but last June she swore she “had no intentions of ever being the next Bachelorette.”

Now here we are, gearing up for the next season of ‘The Bachelorette’ and Maynard is ready to take another shot at love.  People Magazine caught up with Maynard and asked her why she changed her mind about doing the show after saying that she wouldn’t and she said she realized that she looked like a ‘hypocrite’, but she knows the show works.  She said;

“I genuinely meant that. I feel like the biggest hypocrite because I said that and now I’m doing it. I know it can work. I fell in love the first time and no, we didn’t end up getting married, but in the end just falling in love, for me, is a success.”

While Emily may be excited about the prospect of finding true love on the show, she is also ‘scared’ about the whole process.  She said;

“It really hasn’t hit me, what I’ve signed on to do. I’m scared to death.”

Maynard says that it can be challenging trying to date while raising her six year old daughter, Ricki, so this experience will be very different for her.  Emily adds that Ricki will be coming with her for the filming of the show, but won’t really be involved in the show itself.  She said;

“She’s not going to be involved in a lot of filming and certainly not meeting the guys, but she’s really excited to go on vacation with Mommy. My schedule is very different than a normal single guy’s schedule. I can’t go out every night of the week.  They just kind of fizz out before they ever have a chance to become anything. I have to take things slowly because I have a daughter, so that makes it really hard.”

Are you excited that Emily will be the next ‘Bachelorette’?  Are you hoping to see Bentley Williams as one of the contestants vying for her love?  Leave us a comment and tell us what you think.
