Ever since Carrie Underwood announced that she was working on a new album fans have been desperately waiting for news of the release date and finally the wait is over.
The country superstar announced to her fan club that her untitled fourth album will be released on May 1, 2012. Here is an excerpt from the press release obtained by Billboard;
“The country chart-topper has announced that she will release her much anticipated fourth studio album on Tuesday, May 1. The as yet untitled 19 Recordings / Arista Nashville release will be produced by Mark Bright, who also worked on Underwood’s first three albums. Last week, the title of the album’s first single, “Good Girl,” was revealed. The song, which was co-written by Underwood, will hit radio on February 23.”
Besides getting ready for the launch of her new record, Underwood has a number of other fun things on her schedule for fans. Carrie will be appearing on ‘CMT Crossroads’ with ‘American Idol’ judge Steven Tyler, premiering on February 4th at 11pm, and she will be at the 54th Grammy Awards on February 12. Underwood will also be attending the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville and is set to perform at the Nordstrom Nashville Symphony Fashion Show in late February.
Songwriter/producer, Marti Frederiksen, revealed on his Twitter account that rehearsals for ‘CMT Crossroads’ are already underway. He wrote;
“Crossroad rehersal today at Super Bowl city.” And later tweeted; “Carrie Underwoods band was pretty friggni Rockin today, and [Carrie] and Steven weren’t to bad themselves.”
Carrie is also set to appear on the ‘NFL Super Bowl Gospel Celebration’ which will be airing February 5 at noon on FOX. Joining Underwood at the event will be Aretha Franklin, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and U2 front man Bono.
