Last week’s episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ left off with Klaus and Elijah coming face to face after Klaus daggered him and tonight we will see what the ramifications will be for Klaus’ betrayal. We will also see Stefan and Damon Salvatore hosting a dinner with Klaus where the mood is sure to be intense.
During a press brunch with some of the cast of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ the cast revealed to Entertainment Weekly a few details about what fans can expect from tonight’s episode. Joseph Morgan spoke about his character’s relationship with Elijah and said that he feels Klaus will be more afraid of what the lie will do to their relationship, than actually being scared of Elijah himself. He said;
“I think there’s definitely an element of fear–not necessarily afraid of what Elijah will do–but what it will mean for Elijah and their relationship. Their relationship has been founded on a lie that’s 1,000 years old, and so it’s a huge deal. He’s gotten away with it for a while.” (Ian Somerhalder chimed in saying; “Geez, I used to lie to my brother for a couple of weeks and he’d be livid.”)
The dinner party scene on tonight’s episode between the Salvatore brothers and Klaus will be one of the highlights as there are a lot of unresolved issues and feelings between them and it is sure to be pretty intense. Morgan said;
“This is going to be interesting because there’s all of that feeling, all of that tension from all of the fights and manipulation and history that’s been going on between these guys sitting around the dinner table. It’s like a game of poker.”
When it comes to the love triangle between Elena, Stefan and Damon no one seems to know how long it will be until a resolution will come into play. Somerhalder said;
“I don’t really know. Julie [Plec] was here for five days and I didn’t get anything out of her. I think Matt or Tyler or even the family dog would have a better chance of getting Elena than Damon would. The things this man has done to this teenage girl, it’s insurmountable amount of bad.”
As for the burgeoning romance between Caroline and Klaus, Candice Acccola assures fans that they show has no plans to rush through that story line. She said;
“Definitely not rushing through any story lines [between Klaus and Caroline right now]. There are promo pictures of Klaus and Caroline dancing at the ball, but it doesn’t go from 0 to 60 by any means in a romantic way.”
The cast revealed that fans can look forward to some new characters being introduced this season, another flashback episode and “a very unsuspecting being that’s creating a lot more turmoil than any viewer might think”.
