‘X Factor’s’ Stacy Francis weighs in on Nicole Scherzinger’s ‘ego’

She thinks Nicole’s ego got in the way

Stacy Francis was one of the more memorable contestants from the first season of the US version of the ‘X Factor’ after viewers connected with her heartfelt performances that always left her in tears, but when it comes to Simon Cowell’s incredible ‘X Factor’ bloodbath, Francis isn’t shedding any tears for Nicole Scherzinger.

‘X Factor’ announced a massive overhaul of the show yesterday as their host Steve Jones and two of the judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul left the show and while Abdul’s leaving the ‘X Factor’ was a bit of a shocker, Francis tells E! News that it isn’t exactly surprising that her mentor on the show  is gone.  She said;

“Listen, Nicole isn’t a bad person but I don’t think she was ever committed enough. She didn’t have her head in the game.”

While the other mentors were said to always be present and helping out their contestants to make sure their performances were in tip top shape for the show, Francis says that Nicole was sometimes absent from rehearsals and when she was there Nicole banned Simon from coming in and helping when he realized her contestants were struggling.  She said;

“At one point, she banned Simon from my rehearsals.  He wanted to help and he knew what he was doing. It became about Nicole’s ego instead of me winning the $5 million.”

While Scherzinger’s representative has not commented on whether or not she was actually handed her pink slip or if she left the show on her own accord, reports are saying that Nicole wanted to focus her time on her delayed upcoming album and that she will be kicking off her European tour next month.

When it comes to Paula, Francis had nothing but good things to say about her work on the show.  She said;

“She was there six days a week. She gave her time and her commitment. [Paula was] loving and caring. X Factor is tough. It’s a tough show to be on.”

Now that Cowell has cleaned house it’s unknown what his plans are for the host or the rest of the judging panel, but it is assumed that L.A. Reid is still on board and rumors are swirling around Mariah Carey joining the panel – nothing has been confirmed at this point.
